Repertoire

Ken's repertoire spans folk, literary and personal stories, performance poetry and song - all from the English speaking Caribbean - from Guyana in the South to Belize via the entire island chain.

WEST INDIAN STEREOTYPE or THIS MANGO SWEET is his personal story of living in and leaving the Caribbean, and arriving and adapting (or not) to North America. The romantic dancing days of his teenage parties, gorging and turning yellow on mangoes, eating very strange things including the seven different meals his mother made, and his Dads woodworking lessons, then the culture shocks of coming to America, and of his senior citizen times. He keeps it all in perspective.

CARIBBEAN VOICES is the oral/aural poetry from the best Caribbean writers. The poetry he "performs" is narrative and dramatic. His style was developed and honed during his DEM-TWO and ALL-AH-WE productions throughout the islands during the 70s and 80s.

MONKEY LIVER SOUP. He reconstructs Caribbean folktales and performs myth tales by Caribbean writers including Jan Carew, John Agard, A. J. Seymour, Raoul Pantin, Derek Walcott.

STAND-UP AND BE COUNTED. Ken is also recognized as one of the Caribbean's premier stand-up comedians. He embodies the stand-up techniques in almost all of his performances.

His workshops - DIG DE RIDDIM SING DE KORUS - creative and unique techniques for enhancing your telling of story, song and poetry through chorus, audience participation, group work.
